Artist's Statement
I'm a visual artist based at East Street Arts in Leeds working with a mixture of media including ceramics, photography and 2D materials.
Core to my work is a fascination with the human form and the human condition. I am fascinated by the way in which people attempt to document their lives, retain memories, maintain histories and somehow try to make sense of their existence. My work is influenced by ordinary day-to-day events, life, living and ultimately our demise. I am interested by the ways in which a person’s life can be acknowledged and validated.
For me there is something particularly intriguing about ‘captured moments’ and in my work I both explore them and use them as a resource. In doing so I hope to arouse the curiosity of others.
